Jayson Overby, Jr. – Editor-in-Chief

Jayson Overby, Jr., also known as Jase, is a junior Art History major at Morehouse College and serves as The Maroon Tiger’s Editor-In-Chief. His job requires him to build tables, primarily constructing spaces for other creatives, journalists, and artists to sit at. His mediums’ of choice include writing, photography, videography, and graphic illustration. Both writing and photography—collectively—allow him the opportunity to tell narratives and shift conversations. Prior to serving as Editor-in-Cheif, Jase served as a Fashion Editor and Staff Writer. Jase has developed an overall love and appreciation for all things Maroon Tiger and creativity. Jase is the co-founder of a creative studio, WHTESPCE, which focuses on streamlining brands, artists, and products; creating a premium digital brand experience through an online platform. He brings a breadth of creative experience to the team and hopes to continue to build and foster a space for space for other professionals and drive The Maroon Tiger to be a leading example of premiere journalism among college publications.
